The woodlands and heather moorland are alive with red squirrels, pine marten and deer, not to mention the rare birdlife. Lochs and streams criss-cross the land and ancient stone cairns mark key points on the route. Good, level tracks and gentle gradients make it easy to spend time enjoying the scenery.
